The ChemiDoc MP system is a fully featured instrument for gel or western blot imaging, designed to address multiplex fluorescent western blotting, chemiluminescence detection, and general gel documentation applications.

Its features are based on high-resolution, high-sensitivity CCD detection technology and modular options to accommodate a wide range of samples and support multiple detection methods.

The ChemiDoc and PMI FX Imagers are currently located in room 130 Plant Biology Building. Users who are not PRL members can contact Linda Danhof at danhof@msu.edu to get information about obtaining keys to room 130.


The ChemiDoc offers:
  • Red, green and blue LED modules
  • White light conversion screen
  • XcitaBlue conversion screen
The PMI FX phosphoimager can detect blots with the following isotopes:
  • 32P
  • 33P
  • 35S
  • 14C
  • 3H
  • 125I

The PMI FX utilizes special screens to detect radioactivity, users can check out screens in room 130.
